Endometriosis comes with so many struggles and obstacles that you have to fight to overcome. It can sometimes feel like a burden, stopping you from doing small things such as completing daily task. On the larger scale, it can stop you from achieving your dreams. It can become overwhelming and take over your life. Some days it feels like there'll be no relief from the pain.
For that reason, a few weeks ago I mustered up some courage (or some may see it as a moment of madness!) and I went for an endo tattoo! I wanted something feminine that also represented the strength and courage needed to endure this chronic illness. Here is the result:
Now I'm not going to lie.... IT HURT! A LOT! But all I could remind myself was that if I can get through endo pain, I could certainly get through a tattoo. I am so happy with the result. Now during times of struggle, I can look down at my tattoo and remind myself of my strength. During happier times it will be a reminder of what I have overcome.

#MyEndoDiary
Hi Sweetness! This may come as super random, but I stumbled upon your blog a month back when I myself was trying to find answers and insight for this ridiculous disease (of which I too am "blessed"). I was at the end of my rope at that moment in my life and was trying to find endo girls who were living vibrantly and really could only find sisters like us: pretty fed up with this disability.
ReplyDeleteMy solution? I decided to start my own blog kind of trying out and cataloging different holistic ways to treat the endo pain, self guinea pig style, and I've honestly had a lot of success so far! It's only been 3 weeks so I'm nervous to jump the gun, but if you want to see what I've been doing check out my site www.live-life-endometriosis.squarespace.com. Maybe there's some things that could help you too, and maybe you have ideas for me to try too!
Much much love and sending positive thoughts your way
Aloha
Katie
Hello Katie,
DeleteThanks for popping by and reading my posts. I will visit your blog too and have a look around at the information.
Thanks for the link!
Your IBS may be caused by endometriosis lesions in the wall of the bowel. If the IBS varies with your cycle, then this is a likely scenario.
ReplyDeleteYou may want to consider getting rid of the cause of endometriosis, chemical and herbs that act like estrogen. These chemicals and herbs are collectively known as xenoestrogens. As you know, endometriosis is caused by estrogen. Xenoestrogens cause endometriosis. Thus, avoidance of these xenoestrogens, stops the stimulation of endometriosis to grow. Sadly, most cosmetics and toiletries even the natural ones contain herbs and chemicals that are estrogen mimics. These topicals that we put on the skin are absorbed by the body, act like estrogen, and cause endometriosis to grow. The Endometriosis Association found that dioxin in minute amounts caused endometriosis to grow in rhesus monkeys a decade later after exposure. You may google it.
Also this website explains more about xenoestrogens and their link to endometriosis.

Thanks very much for the information. I already know my IBS is affected by endometriosis as it was confirmed in my last operation. Will find out if its spread during my next op.
DeleteThanks again.
